Add your photocopier to your network so it can be used by other devices in your home or office. Networking your photocopier and other peripheral devices such as printers, scanners and external hard drives allows you to use the device without having to directly connect your computer to it. Windows is designed to work with an array of network devices without having to install additional software programs on your computer.

1

Turn off the photocopier. Connect the Ethernet cable to the “LAN” port on the connection panel of the photocopier.

2

Connect the other side of the cable into one of the open ports on your network switch or router. Turn on the photocopier.

3

Turn on your computer and connect to your network. Click Start and click “Control Panel.” Type “Network” into the search field and press “Enter” to open up the “Network and Sharing Center.” Click the “View Network Computers and Devices” and click the name of the photocopier to access the device on your network.
