The company’s revolutionary technologies deliver smart scalability, security, sustainability and simplicity to aid businesses’ digital transformation

RICOH Always Current Technology

RICOH Always Current Technology makes regular updates to firmware and other software available on demand, and as needed. Customers will be able to download and instal new features, applications, and updates straight to their device as they become available, providing them with greater freedom and allowing them to work more quickly. This enables digital workplaces to extend their capabilities in response to changing requirements, while also keeping security features and software up to date. Furthermore, it permits the purchase of premium upgrades as soon as they become available, removing the need to wait for new models to become available. In other words, Ricoh’s new intelligent MFPs will continue to evolve as the businesses of its clients grow. Future RICOH Always Current Technology premium upgrades, for example, will offer capabilities to improve accessibility and ease-of-use, such as natural-speech voice control.

RICOH Cloud Workflow Solutions

Cloud Workflow Solutions is a collection of cloud-based technologies from Ricoh that provide streamlined simplicity in cheap, scalable, subscription-based products. These technologies assist firms avoid manual tasks, allowing them to focus on key business activities. The portfolio includes cloud connectors, which are predefined workflows used to streamline processes; cloud workflows, which provide specifically tailored, advanced features such as multi-destination scanning; and cloud services, which are sophisticated workflows and applications used for a variety of purposes such as extracting content from documents, integrating with cloud-based line of business applications, and creating multiple data routes to support the most complex requirements.

Security and Uptime

Making information in all forms dependably secure and accessible is a critical component of empowering digital workplaces. Ricoh prioritises information security in its design, and these new intelligent MFPs will have RICOH Intelligent Assistance, a collection of tools, apps, and services that help organisations stay productive with continuous support, eventually delivering better results by driving higher device uptime. Aspects include the ability to remote into a device’s Smart Operation Panel for quick troubleshooting, automatic firmware updates to prevent known issues from affecting a device, and proactive, detailed email notifications to service technicians when a problem occurs to help provide a faster, more targeted response.

Ricoh’s intelligent MFPs employ onboard encryption, and those equipped with hard drives come standard with DataOverWriteSecurity System (DOSS) to help protect information transferred via Ricoh’s intelligent devices.

Ease-of-use and Customization

Features and settings can be standardised across an organisation or within cloud-hosted user profiles to further streamline and convenience of use. Individual users or departments can use these profiles to obtain customised experiences that prioritise and support specific objectives, such as Accounts Payable departments’ billing and documentation requirements, which may necessitate several, specialised scanning locations and approvals. When a piece of hardware approaches the end of its life cycle, the same unique collection of apps, processes, and settings may be transferred over from one device to another, allowing customers to expect continuous capability growth without the need for retraining when installing new hardware.

Newly improved Smart Operation Panel

Ricoh is also introducing a new and improved Smart Operation Panel, which includes an updated processor for speedier application transitions and a smooth, responsive touch screen. The new, configurable panel has a streamlined, recognisable appearance that builds on the base of the iconic grey tiles that long-time users are familiar with. The interface can be customised to better fit and support specific workspaces, workflows, and needs.

Intelligent MFP Devices

Ricoh’s Dynamic Workplace Intelligence is achieved in six new intelligent multifunction printers (MFPs), the RICOH IM C2000, IM C2500, IM C3000, IM C3500, IM C4500, and IM C6000, which print at 20, 25, 30, 35, 45, and 60 pages per minute (ppm). They offer printing, scanning, copying, finishing, and faxing for output sizes up to 11″ x 17″, as well as conventional mobile printing. Buyers Lab recently honoured the IM C4500 with the Winter 2019 Pick award for Outstanding 45-ppm Color Copier MFP, and the IM C3000, IM C3500, IM C4500, and IM C6000 with the Winter 2019 Outstanding Achievement in Innovation award for Ricoh Intelligent Scanning.

Each device is ENERGY STAR® certified and has an EPEAT Gold certification, as well as a Smart Operation Panel that gives step-by-step video guidance for easy maintenance like toner or staple replacement. During periods of inactivity, the Default Auto Off timer option reduces power usage, operating costs, and carbon footprint. Ricoh’s dedication to building a more sustainable society is further demonstrated by its Take-Back Programs for consumables and equipment, which aid in the responsible management of end-of-life processes.

The IM C2000 and IM C2500 additionally include a 100-sheet automated reversing document feeder (ARDF) for quick copying, scanning, and faxing.

Meanwhile, the IM C3000, IM C3500, IM C4500, and IM C6000 include a slew of extra features to match modern business requirements. Their typical single-pass document feeder (SPDF) considerably simplifies information exchange, allowing digital workplaces to communicate more effortlessly. This SPDF goes above and beyond typical hardware in its class by including optional double-feed detection capabilities to help minimise lost pages or jams while still providing the quickest scanning speeds on the market at 240 photos per minute (ipm). The bundled compact document scanner is useful in situations where digitization is frequently requested, such as accounting departments and educational administration offices. Checks, receipts, note cards, and other small documents can be difficult to load into a standard-sized scanner, but our customised tray eliminates the guessing for perfectly aligned, complete scans on the first try. Furthermore, these MFPs can be outfitted with an intuitive, efficient internal multi-folding unit, allowing businesses to bring folding brochures and other external-facing materials in-house.
