The printer is experiencing difficulties feeding paper from the tray

There are various possible causes for the paper not feeding:

1. Examine the paper guides in the appropriate tray (if there is more than 1 installed). Paper will not sit correctly in the tray if these guidelines are not correctly aligned, and paper mis-feeds are possible.
2. Clean the pick-up pad and hopping roller if the guides are properly aligned (again for the relevant tray). The pick-up pad is usually located in the centre of the tray, at the front. Typically, it is a grey rubber rectangle mounted on a spring-loaded bracket.
3. If this doesn’t address the paper feed issue, clean the hopping roller. This is located in the paper tray right above the pick-up pad. Remove the paper tray from the printer to gain access to this. Wipe the hopping roller clean of any paper dust or residue.

These steps can be repeated for any additional paper trays attached to the printer.
